Extreme Makeover Backyard Addition!

So the first thing I told our realtor when we were house shopping was I had to have a pool! I am a summer baby and a teacher I live for laying out lounging by the pool soaking up rays all summer! Once that was crossed off the list the number 2 biggest priority was a big enough yard for sweet Gucci boy to do his business in!

So once we found our dream house with the best backyard possible we were sold. There was only a few small issues!

I appoligize for the side ways picture but if you turn your head you will see the side "yard"! Yes it was all concrete! Also the wonderful former owners had concreted in the lovely trees growing into the hot tub!

So step number one remove the trees! Sorry I know trees are beautiful, but I payed for a backyard so I can get a tan and get into my hot tub! next step jackhammer the concerete!
Obviously Rustin was very excited to start this! It was an all day event of breaking and picking up concrete! Following that the next weekend was putting down dirt and sod.

TADA! A grassy area for Gucci to handle all of his business! He will be so excited! So after taking down the trees, getting rid of the concrete, and adding lots of grass came the pool! The pool needed a little TLC so first we retitled it with some bright blue tiles.

After the pool tiles they replastered and smoothed out the bottom! And finally on Saturday after doing a few moving things I will be relaxing in my new favorite place!
Bring on the SUMMER HEAT!

ICE at the Gaylord Texan

Rustin and I had our frist real date back in 2007 at the ICE exhibit at the Gaylord Texan. He was so sweet and wanted to surprise me with it b/c he knew how much I wanted to go. He asked if we should go eat first and I thought no it will get crowded after 7 so lets go now. Well we waited in line for 3 hours! Rustin was such a good sport and we got to get to know each other a WHOLE lot in that time period! After we finished he was STARVING so we went to TGIFridays where he finally got to eat!

They used to just do a bunch of Christmas things as the theme. Then they started to theme the whole thing after certain popular Chirstmas stories. Last year was how the Grinch stole Christmas. We went with our very good friends Amy and TJ.

This year was A Charlie Brown Christmas and we again went with the Trietsch's! By far this year was the best one yet! It was longer than last years and there was SO MUCH interaction. This has become our new holiday tradition! :) We had so much fun! They had a survey at the end to vote on next years theme! Frosty the Snowman was my choice! fingers crossed!

On a funny story side note... we met a really sweet newlywed couple this past summer at Disneyland. Of course I had to start a conversation with anyone else who would choose Disney as a honeymoon spot. As we were talking we discovered we were all from Frisco! Small world and she is a teacher at a MS in FISD! :) So we thought how fun and wished each other well after we got off our rides. Well this weekend when we were at the Gaylord sure enough they saw us and we figured we have to be friends now, God is telling us something! :)
Love spending time with old friends and making new ones!
